Google has (finally) launched a beta, called Reach Planner, that is a new planning tool for video campaigns. Until now, it has been nearly impossible to forecast what a video campaign on YouTube or other video partners on the Google Display Network would spend, how many users it would reach, and how frequently it would show. Reach Planner allows you to see unique reach data for every device, for all core audiences and all video formats for over 50 countries.
With this beta, you will now have the ability to not only estimate reach and frequency, but also which video formats work best together by using another new feature: product mixes. When using product mixes, you can give Google your marketing objective, ad preferences and budget, and Google will tell you the right mix of YouTube’s solutions to reach your goal. This includes what the right allocation of spend is between TrueView in-stream videos and Bumpers.
Reach Planner gives advertisers the opportunity to build more effective plans for video campaigns on YouTube, as well as across the Google Display Network. This will be extremely helpful when planning media, and we are so excited for this to be rolled out!
As it is currently in beta, you will need to reach out to your Google rep to request access to it.
